Abstract: University Preparation of Teachers in the Context of Transformation Processepp. The aim of this study is to describe a proposal of a concept draft of teachers’ training at universities which accepts new needs of the educational reality in the context of transformation of regional education in Slovakia. The draft is based on an analysis of knowledge about the current status of undergraduate training of secondary school teachers within the secondary education in the Slovak Republic and an international comparison.

Abstract: Social Andragogue as a Helping Profession in the System of Residential Care for Seniorpp. This study is of theoretical and conceptual nature and represents the author’s direct output of the project VEGA SAS-ME SR no. 1/0024/12 titled Evaluation of the Impact of Education on Quality of Life of Seniors in Residential Conditionpp. The aim of the study is to scientifically justify the need for engagement of social andragogues, or andragogues with extended socio-andragogical qualifications in social facilities for seniors and the need to establish a professiogram and a professional competency profile of a social andragogue for the specific target groups of the facilitie.

Abstract: Travelling Educational Change and Cultural Diversity in the Czech Republic. This article analyses the interconnectedness of travelling policy and domestic top-down and bottom-up processes in the case of a country going through a transformation from a communist to a more open system. This interconnectedness and the dilemmas it poses will be examined in several steppp. After a theoretical introduction to the concept of travelling policy and domestic bottom-up and top-down processes, we will introduce the initial situation of the educational system in the Czech Republic around 1989. We will then analyse the process of educational change, and we will describe how Czech teachers view this change by presenting the results of qualitative research among these teacherpp. Finally, we will concentrate on the diversity issue as one part of the process of educational change. A diversity aspect was chosen because on this issue we can demonstrate the influences of travelling policy on top and bottom development.

Abstract: Nurseries—Educational or Social Institutions? The paper presents recent approaches to institutional education of children under three years in a wider international and European context. It introduces concepts of creation of educational programs for children in some countries of Europe and the USA. Unlike in former socialist countries, the issue of young children education is in focus in countries with a developed system of pre-school education, including educational training of people working in various types of nurserie.
