The paper deals with various forms of the use of primary human abilities in the area of learning – imagery. First, the concept of imagery, which is still confused with mere visualization, is defined. We try to clear up this simplification. The term learning is understood here primarily as to acquire new habits, experience and develop skills. The article tries to provide a cross-sectional overview of areas where imagery can serve to improve or consolidate some of the skills or abilities. For this reason, the study deals with areas of therapy, coaching, sports, music and education. In each of these areas (and undoubtedly in many others), imagery can be a useful tool. It describes how to use imagery effectively in dealing with fear, learning new movement patterns, increasing self-confidence, and others. Last but not least, the paper deals with what is the basic premise of imagery, how it should look like to be as effective as possible, and how to use it in different areas.
